Retirement doesn’t mean boredom but the privilege to do whatever your heart desires.  After years of focus now I have time to turn over rocks to see what is under them, much like a toddler does. Doing this ensures boredom won’t set in. When you’re free to live each day doing what you want to do, the next thing you find is that the days are shorter than they used to be. I guess as I look back, having fun always did shorten the length of a day.

Open your mind to lots of ideas and you will soon find there is little time to achieve everything. In my case I am referring to new and old interests as my  sandboxes to play in. The new ones include the greenhouse and learning how to write novels. The old ones haven’t changed. I still have a driving interest in why us humans are the way we are.

If you are still working, take a moment to look around and see the stones you’d like to turn over once you too are retired. If you are retired, I sincerely hope you are having as much fun as I am. Take a moment and visualize what you think you’d enjoy doing that would bring you joy if you had the time to devote to it.
