Here’s a new term for an old, but not favored, attitude: Biocentrism.
The definition of this word says the value of all life systems is equal to that given to human life. Wow! The importance of relationships between humans, dogs, cats, and horses is vital to many people. Obviously, this idea has extended to cover these animals and more. Judging by the number of products being sold for them, the emotional devastation at their loss, the expanded respect and value of non-human life forms, is growing. When the idea of respecting all forms of life becomes popular, maybe we’ll have a gentler world? What do you think?
