Everyone knows about the solar zodiac, Aries, Taurus and so on. Few people know about the lunar zodiac, called the Nakshatras used in Sidereal Astrology. These are considerably more complicated and powerful than the solar signs. Why is this so? Because they influence how we think, and in doing so, they also contribute a wider variety of influences available to us. Our bodies may be perfect, but it’s how we think that will harm or support us.
There are twenty-seven Nakshatras commonly used. The first set of nine Nakshatras cover 13° 20 of space, starting at zero degrees Aries and going up to zero degrees Leo. The second set of nine, start at zero degrees Leo to zero-degree Sagittarius. The final set starts at zero Sagittarius and ends before zero Aries, where the pattern begins again.
For the next few months, each entry will focus on the multiple influences of each Nakshatra. For example, each Nakshatra has its over-lord, deity, Guna, body part, its purpose, its Tridosha, Varna, direction, Shakti, and so much more.
