The difference between Western and Eastern astrology is between the worldviews each subject rests on. Getting an understanding of the different worldviews will answer many of the questions that arise from both sides. Begining to explore the differences between the two worldviews demands that astrology must be briefly set aside.
The biggest block to understanding either worldview is unexamined bias. No one is free of this human condition. We all want the way we think to be right. Bias is a good thing because it helps to identifies areas or subjects requiring deeper attention. When information results in a negative physical response, we know our thinking, in that area is likely in need of critical examination. This is not always easy to do.
Sometimes the best way to deal with bias is to take a deep breath, own the physical tension, and laugh as we prepare ourselves to listen and consider another way of thinking. This week, play with bias and find out where it’s strongest for you. Then the process of considering different ways of thinking can be started.with greater self awareness.
