Summer is here and is a perfect opportunity to acknowledge duality and the difference between what appears to be and what actually is. Our language suggests it is the sun moving across the sky when in reality it is the earth moving around the sun which causes this illusion.
According to our calendar, and the tropical zodiac, summer has begun and the sun has started its journey to the south. From now on sunlight will decrease daily until December 21. On this date the sun will once again appear to change direction bringing with it more light to the northern hemisphere.
This apparent motion of the sun’s movement isn’t the only illusion we hold on to but it is one of the best known. It’s almost as wide spread an illusion as the notion something outside of ourselves will bring us happiness.
Whether this summer is good, or not, will not depend on how many sunny days we get to enjoy. It will depend on how well we relate to our inner sun and the knowledge it provides within us.
