Tropical and Sidereal Astrologers alike, will enjoy the validation by Science of what they have known all along.
Jyotisha, a Vedanga, is one of the six primary ancillary studies of the Veda, recognized the world over to be in excess of 5000 years old. These writings hold vast knowledge, covering areas just discovered in the last 150 years, thanks to the understanding of the information they offer. The subject focuses on advanced astronomy, the effect of energies on individuals, societal development and more. Inherent in Jyotish is the notion that consciousness is primary. Their claim has been validated today. Validation does not guarantee acceptance.
The evidence for the truth of the claim continues to be restricted because the current materialist paradigm adheres to the theory of matter being primary. In this paradigm, consciousness is a product of neural activity. Accompanying this idea is the notion that objectivity only objective measurement may validate the existence of any anything. Subjective knowledge has no value because it cannot be dissected or replicated according to the existing rules of the scientific method.
For centuries, since it’s discovery, the Veda have been ridiculed as meaningless religious nonsense provided by an ignorant, pagan, people. It was not until the late 1800’s that the writings introduced Western scientists to concepts leading to the re-discovery of Quantum Physics. Introduction to the subject of Quantum Physics has not been the only benefit of increased understanding of the ancient writings. For example, major areas of wonder have opened, some of which include the recognition of the value of subjectivity, the notion of dimensions, non-locality and the influence of the planets on all life forms. This last point of understanding has resulted in the expansion of biology into the specific studies of Chronobiology and Astrobiology
Starting with Chronobiology, Astrologers will appreciate the new findings. Students of Tropical and Sidereal astrology are well aware of the importance of the strength shown by the Sun in a person’s birth chart. It is well-known that a sorely afflicted or weak Sun in a chart will lead to heart problems. Scorned for years, this information has now been confirmed through multiple studies comparing solar activity impacting the variability of heart rates, a factor leading to high mortality rates.
The National Library of Medicine and the National Center for Biotechnology Information has numerous articles discussing research confirming the connection between solar activity and heart activity. One article (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11774870/) states: “In conclusion, evidence is provided herein that an alteration of HRV is most apparent in the circaminutan (‘VLF’) region, which is clinically important, because a reduction in its power is a predictor of morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease”. “Higher HRV is a signal of good adaptation and characterizes a healthy person with efficient autonomic mechanisms, while lower HRV is frequently an indicator of abnormal and insufficient adaptation of the autonomic nervous system, provoking poor patient’s physiological function”. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19768301/
The last example comes from an article entitled: Cyclic stroke mortality variations follow sunspot patterns. The article can be found at: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11774870/
To find more research articles confirming the importance of sun activity and the heart google: What does “circaminutan” mean. The explanation of the word must be in one of the articles. The meaning can be inferred.
The next article will deal with information supporting the Vedic claim of life coming from Space.
