Intelligence isn’t knowing everything, it’s the ability to challenge everything you know.

Food for Thought

Consciousness is currently a great mystery in Science. The answer being sought to the question whether consciousness is secondary or primary, is a big one. Naturally, the answer depends on how the world is seen.

Something to Consider

The Sun is considered a mild malefic in Jyotish. Chandra Wickramasinghe, an Astrobiologist may have recently found one of the reasons for such a decision. He has proven a link between low solar activity and pandemics actually exists. It seems space holds various types of viruses which can be carried to earth when the Sun is producing few solar flares.

Yes, Science is Catching up.

Introduction to the subject of Quantum Physics and the vast worlds now open to us, has not been the only benefit of increased understanding of the ancient writings. New disciplines are re-discovering important knowledge leading to new disciplines such as Chronobiology and Astrobiology. Both these disciplines are widening our understanding of the connection between our bodies and our universe.

Science is catching up.

Tropical and Sidereal Astrologers alike, will enjoy the validation by Science of what they have known all along.
Jyotisha, a Vedanga, is one of the six primary ancillary studies of the Veda, recognized the world over to be in excess of 5000 years old. These writings hold vast knowledge, covering areas just discovered in the last 150 years, thanks to the understanding of the information they offer. The subject focuses on advanced astronomy, the effect of energies on individuals, societal development and more. Inherent in Jyotish is the notion that consciousness is primary. Their claim has been validated today. Validation does not guarantee acceptance.

Announcing!

Retirement has given me opportunities to play and explore. Now it’s time to share what I’ve found. Never more than once a week, I will send you something to think about. Topics will include Astrology, Politics, History, Religion, sex, aging and dying. All the stuff that we’re not supposed to talk about. The length of each article will vary and a copy will be on my website https://phyllischubb.com/ in case you miss it today.

The major difference between Tropical and Sidereal systems

Consider this…
The major difference between Tropical and Sidereal systems has nothing to do with the accuracy of either system or their appropriate application.
This is the first, in a series of articles which will present a wide range of topics, directly and indirectly, associated with the use and application of Tropical and Sidereal astrology. Other related disciplines and branches of science, such as Physics, specifically non-locality, and current findings due to the expansion of scientific thought, such as near-death-experiences (NDE). Let’s begin.

Science, Consciousness and Jyotish

The barriers to merging Tropical and Sidereal (Jyotish) astrology are similar to the barriers of understanding consciousness. The arguments used to define an expanded view of consciousness are the same as those needed to understand Jyotish. Basically, consciousness is not tied to matter, it is greater than matter and exists both within and outside matter. Consciousness is energy and energy cannot be destroyed, hence the great value of Jyotish.

Finally

Once again, we are seeing the teachings of the ancients being reconfirmed. This morning an article came in the mail. The article started with a definition that warmed my heart: Chronobiology is a branch of biology that examines periodic phenomena in the body and how we adapt to solar and lunar related rhythms.

Relationships Matter

The relationships between beliefs, judgments and actions matter. The fact of the matter is, beliefs are linked to judgments. Judgments shape actions toward all subjects, including different forms of astrology. Within any culture there are ideas and beliefs about creation, the existence of good and evil, expectations and responsibilities. What these ideas entail is vitally important and need to be reflected on from time to time.

Religion, Language and Culture – Part One

Religion contributes to life within any culture by providing an explanation and reason for existence. Religion also brings people together under one umbrella while providing hope, and sometimes confidence, for a positive future. Religions shape the way people see themselves, others and the world around them.
